General Motors posted the 3rd Quarter sales results for 2019 and we see a positive number for Corvette sales as production of the C7 generation is nearly over.

That’s where we’ll be Wednesday evening as the next-generation 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible drops its top for the first time in public.
C7 Corvette ZR1 Total Production Breakdown
The King returned to his hill as a grand finale for the seventh generation Corvette. 2,441 ZR1 coupes and 512 ZR1 convertibles were built during the extended 2019 model year for a grand total of 2,953 retail units of the supercharged swan song of the C7.

Having some fun with the 2020 Corvette Stingray, the guys over at @CarLifestyle on Instagram created this image of a Torch Red Z51 Coupe catching some air on a dirt road.

Barrett-Jackson only holds four auctions annually so each time one comes up, it is a special occasion. The final sale of 2019 goes live on October, 3rd from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Fabulous Las Vegas. There are going to be some stunning examples of America’s Sports Car up for grabs.
One collection in particular stands out. First Generation Corvette fanatic and Pacific Northwest entrepreneur, Jim Osterman is sending 11 of his most prized Corvettes across the auction block at no reserve. The collection features ten C1 Corvettes and a first-year C2 all featuring unique and desirable options and colors in Top Flight condition.

The inaugural year of Corvette production saw a specialized team of workers assemble what would become the rarest vintage of America’s Sports Car out of a temporary assembly line in Flint, Michigan.
With a total of 300 cars, all dressed in Polo White with red interiors and black cloth tops, a national obsession was born. 1953 Corvettes become more scarce as time continues its unending march and only about two thirds of the first-year Corvettes are known to still be in circulation.

Here’s another staff member from Road & Track who shared a video of the 2020 Corvette Stingray on social media. This time its Jason Cammisa who has his camera pointed at the basic speedometer display as he goes 0-100 mph from a standing start. Because of the media embargo, he can’t share performance times or his driving impressions of the car.
And we are okay with that!

The 2020 Corvette Stingray spent last week in the hands of the Road & Track editorial staff as the next-generation Corvette was one of the 11 contenders being tested for this year’s Performance Car of the Year Award. The judging is done and the winner will be announced in the November 2019 issue.
