San Diego-based YouTuber T.J. Hunt apparently has the distinction of becoming the first shop to install a widebody kit on a new Stingray.

Or at least the first person to post such a video showing the installation of prototype 3D printed widebody pieces.

Just 9,168 Corvettes left the St. Louis factory during the 1958 model year.

Currently up for sale on Awesome Joe Auctions is a partially restored black example that’s already undergone some serious work since the owner pulled it out of a covered barn and “brought it back to its glory days,” to borrow a phrase from the listing (and Bruce Springsteen).

Over the course of the last 12 months, we’ve witnessed a changing of the guard as the C7 Corvette was retired to make way for the next-generation C8 Corvette.

The National Corvette Museum has also gone through some big changes as longtime NCM Executive Director Wendell Strode retired after 23 years at the helm. Taking over the leadership role at the Corvette Museum is Dr. Sean Preston, a native of Atlanta, Georgia.

Mecum’s monster Spring Classic auction kicked off late last week in Indianapolis. With roughly 2,000 cars on the docket, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. One recent, very notable addition to that docket is Lot S108.1, a brand new Blade Silver 2020 Corvette Stingray.

Owners of the new 2020 Corvette recently began to receive a 2020 Corvette Speed Shape Models from General Motors in appreciation for their purchase. The models have proven to be a big hit with customers, with each including a personal thank you letter and the speed shape model painted the same color as the owner’s Corvette with a VIN plate on the display base that matches that particular Corvette.

It’s the kind of action a YouTube vlogger lives for, but in this case, John at JMC Rides wasn’t particularly worried about getting subscribers to his channel right about then.

But thanks to his level-headed fellow vlogger on the scene – a blue Mustang owner named Kevin Yoo – John was still able to document a small fire this week under his 2020 Corvette that appropriately enough is coated with Torch Red paint.

Last week we brought you the story of owners of the new 2020 Corvette Stingray having their frunk’s hood opening during driving and with two incident reports now filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Chevrolet appears to be taking the issue seriously.
