On Monday evening, it was chaos on the streets of Philadelphia following another fatal police shooting, and soon there were all kinds of vandalism and destruction happening.

Even so, it was sort of surprise to hear that a C8 Corvette had been stolen from an unnamed Chevrolet dealership during the melee, and now there is a video showing the moment the car breaks through a gate and heads off down the street.

Despite being so drastically different, the C7 and C8 Corvettes, in our opinion, are still obviously from the same Chevrolet lineage.

It was exactly one month ago that GM issued a service bulletin regarding a batch of bad valve springs that were used across the GM V8 line-up that includes the 2020 Corvette’s LT2 engine. Drivers may experience engine misfiring and a check engine light when one of the valve springs fails.

We figure the C8 will be the launching point for a lot of custom shops.

The latest to join the fun is ARES Design, the luxury coachbuilder based in Modena, Italy.

After revealing in September it will build 24 samples of its S1 Project coupe, ARES just announced it will also be producing a limited edition run of 24 more S1 Project Spyders, based on the new mid-engine Corvette.
