You never really know what’s coming next on the streets of New York City. A newly released video from Upper Manhattan shows a pedestrian waiting calmly at an intersection—seconds before a speeding C8 Corvette blasts through, slams into a Mercedes Benz SUV, spins out, and sends the pedestrian flying into the air.
At least three people were injured in the violent multi car crash early Thursday, captured from multiple angles by surveillance cameras along West 204th Street and Sherman Avenue in Inwood.

Police say the crash unfolded around 6:30 a.m., when a man driving a Sea Wolf Gray C8 Corvette at a high rate of speed collided with a Mercedes Benz in the intersection. The impact sent both vehicles into separate destructive paths as the Corvette struck a 34-year-old pedestrian on the sidewalk, then slammed into a building.
The Mercedes Benz ricocheted into a parked car and a moped. That driver ran from the scene, according to the NYPD.
Surveillance video obtained by FOX 5 shows the moment the pedestrian was clipped and launched into the air.
The Corvette’s driver and passenger, along with the injured pedestrian, were taken to the hospital in stable condition, officials said.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released. No arrests have been made, and the NYPD says the investigation remains active.

Wow, for that much damage, one or a couple of the drivers must have been flying.! Crazy to do in NYC
Some people do not need to own a Corvette!
This is crazy! Miracle nobody was killed.
Doing donuts in NYC in a Corvette. Brilliant.
That’s intense… amazing no one was killed… too much money and not enough common sense.
just wow.
The reporter says the Corvette was responsible for the accident. Wow how is that? How about the driver of the Corvette was responsible. Last I looked my C8 Z06 doesn’t do anything unless I’m in the driver’s seat.
My guess is stolen cars were involved all around. The Mercedes driver that fled was probably an illegal alien. The news media rarely reports those interesting details. Anyway, stay away from NYC.
The surveillance sequence sounds terrifying, especially the few calm seconds before the collision sends both vehicles in separate directions. I was relieved to read that the three injured people were reported in stable condition, though the driver leaving the scene adds another unsettling layer.
