[VIDEO] Is this Twin Turbo C8 Corvette Z06 the Fastest One Yet?

Our friend David from DBM Racing claims to have laid down the quickest 60-130 MPH time ever recorded for a C8 Corvette Z06 after a full morning of testing on both pump gas and MS109 racing fuel.

David kicks things off with his Z06 nearly out of fuel, and its running on a 93-octane tune that provides the twin-turbo Z06 with just over 800 horsepower. With the humidity off the chain after a brief rain, his first 60-130 MPH pull came in at 5.42 seconds which is a massive improvement over the his previous best of roughly seven seconds at the drag strip.

After a cool down, he removed the interior panels to access the manual boost controller and with a splash of MS109, the car’s tune is reflashed for a more aggressive profile which increases boost from 6 psi to roughly 12 psi. With about 100 additional horsepower from the tune and race fuel, David’s second run delivers the result he was going for: blasting 60-130 MPH in 4.69 seconds!

He notes this puts the car squarely into stock C7 ZR1 territory, matching the factory supercar’s roll‑racing performance despite the C8’s naturally aspirated baseline. Cicio Performance did the twin turbo build and tune on the Z06 and he calls the MS109 calibration “spicy” and “absolutely insane” in how hard the car pulls.

The video also dives into drag‑pack testing. David’s Z06 initially struggled with traction control intervention when running Mickey Thompson ET Street SS tires due to rollout differences between the front and rear. With traction control fully disabled, the issue disappears, though the car still breaks loose slightly at high RPM on the street. He plans to test a Forgeline front‑runner setup next, which should reduce rolling resistance and potentially shave additional ET at the drag strip.

By the end of the video, David declares his car the fastest C8 Z06 currently documented, challenging other builders — including Mod2Fame’s Steph — to come for the record. With cooler fall air and drag‑strip prep, he expects the car to be a solid 9‑second quarter‑mile performer once the launch is dialed in.

  1. Why? Just….WHY? If you’re boosting an LT6, you might as well just go with the ZR1. The cost difference between boosting the LT6 and the ZR1 is insignificant. It also has factory warranty. And the entire allure of the LT6 is the N/A FPC noises–which are now all but gone because you boosted it. Illogical.

The only reason to do it is bragging rights about “Z06”. And because no sane person does this, there won’t ever be competition to best this record. Everyone else will have started with a ZR1.
