Yesterday we shared a Reuters video showing the preparation of the street course circuit for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix that will take place Sunday afternoon in Washington D.C. Now, we got video of Corvettes being driven around the 1.7-mile street course and it offers the first look of the street course from a driver’s point of view.
Here is the official track map for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix:
There are seven turns that make up the 1.7-mile street course, and drivers will make 147 laps around it to complete the 250 miles. The Start/Finish line is directly west of the U.S. Capitol, and drivers will see the National Archives, Washington Monument and the National Gallery of Art. Three Smithsonian museums are also boarding the temporary track:
• The National Museum of Natural History
• The National Air & Space Museum
• The National Museum of the American Indian
Pit Lane runs adjacent to Pennsylvania Avenue between turns 1 and 2.
The race will be broadcast live on FOX with coverage beginning at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, August, 23rd.
