One look is all it takes to realize this isn’t your ordinary 1971 Corvette.
It’s loud, proud, and unmistakably custom — a full tilt restomod wearing Torch Red paint, Motion style black stripes, and a stance that makes you look twice. Add in an LS5 454 big block, an upgraded chassis, and a cabin packed with modern touches, and you’ve got a C3 built to turn heads and chew pavement.
Offered out of O’Fallon, Missouri on Hemmings, the asking price — $47,995 — comes in well below what most restomods command, making this one an intriguing option for anyone wanting a driver ready, show quality Stingray without the six figure premium.
This C3 Corvette spent half a century with the same owner, backed by service records and a three year-old restomod transformation. It’s not numbers matching — and proudly doesn’t pretend to be — but it is built to be driven.
Under the hood sits an LS5 454ci V8, paired with a Turbo 400 automatic, supported by power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and cruise control. The odometer shows 71,000 miles, and the seller says the car is ready to go anywhere.
Outside, you’ll find Torch Red paint with Motion Performance tribute stripes, refinished ’82 Collector Edition wheels with BFGoodrich Radials, Le Mans style gas cap, LED tail lights and halo headlights, and genuine L88 factory hood (not a reproduction).
This is a car built to stand out — and it does.
Inside, the upgrades continue:
• All new white face gauges with LED lighting and quartz clock
• Slide Bar Bluetooth radio, 4 speaker system, rear subwoofer/amp
• Full DynaMat insulation
• Billet Specialties flat bottom steering wheel
• Embroidered black leather C3 seats with red inserts
• Red seat belts with shoulder harness
• New ultra plush black carpeting
• Cruise control, fresh battery, and clean overall presentation
It’s a cockpit built for comfort, style, and long drives.
Underneath, this car includes plenty of new parts, including:
• Stainless exhaust with DynoMax Turbo mufflers
• Fiberglass rear leaf spring
• New sending unit in gas tank
• New rear control arms
• Rebalanced driveshafts with HD U joints
• Polyurethane front control arm bushings
Recent service includes oil/filter, transmission fluid/filter, heater core, belts, alignment, balanced front tires, and new rear control arms.
This ’71 isn’t a purist’s Corvette — it’s a driver’s Corvette, built for someone who wants big block torque, modern comfort, and show quality paint without chasing NCRS points. The Motion tribute touches give it attitude, the interior upgrades make it livable, and the price makes it accessible.

That new rear leaf spring needs adjusted. Tire to fender gap is massive. Give it chrome Hooker side pipes and chrome torque thrusts, and then it would have some serious attitude.
Get rid of the Gabriel High Jackers.
If it was a 4-speed I would think about it. I am not a fan of red but this one works.
The horsepower was down and going further down all thru the 70’s. I only like the 50’s corvette’s. Much better looking.
