After failing to sell on Bring a Trailer last week, the owner of this big block 1967 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is taking another swing — this time on Craigslist. But for a car approaching the $100,000 mark, the new listing leaves plenty to be desired.
The ad, posted out of Pittston, Pennsylvania, is sparse:
“1967 Corvette. Original. Survivor. No hit body. 59,000 miles. 427/400 hp. 4 speed. Goodwood Green.”
That’s it. No mention of documentation, no detailed photos, no explanation of condition — just a few words and a $95,000 asking price.
The ’67 model year is widely considered the pinnacle of the C2 generation, and this car checks several important boxes: Goodwood Green, numbers matching 427/400 Tri Power, four speed close ratio transmission, and a Positraction rear end. According to Barn Finds, the car appears to be a true survivor with 59,000 miles and an undamaged fiberglass body.
But the paint is heavily deteriorated, the listing photos are poor, and the seller offers almost no information about mechanical condition. Barn Finds notes that while the frame shows surface corrosion, it appears structurally sound — a key point for any C2 buyer.
Inside, the black vinyl cabin looks serviceable for a survivor: good seats, clear gauges, faded carpet, and worn brightwork. Nothing appears to require immediate replacement.
Chevrolet’s decision to introduce big block power in 1965 changed the Corvette forever. By 1967, the L68 427 Tri Power was one of the most desirable engines in the lineup, producing 400 horsepower and 460 lb ft of torque. It wasn’t the top dog — that honor belonged to the 435 hp L71 and the underrated 430-hp L88 — but the L68 remains a sought after combination, especially when paired with a four speed.
Barn Finds reports that this car is numbers matching, a major plus for collectors and investors.
On Bring a Trailer last week, bidding reached $72,500 before the auction closed without a sale. Several commenters noted that the seller may have overestimated the car’s value, especially given the tired paint and under hood details that aren’t quite correct.
One commenter summed it up: “It is a great looking car that should easily bring the money. However, the poor write up and lack of pictures will hurt the sale. Perhaps it’s a ‘gee, honey, I tried to sell it’ deal.”
Another added: “The market has been sagging for some time and even C2s are not immune.”
With the Craigslist listing offering even less information than the BaT auction, the seller may be facing another uphill climb.
A numbers matching ’67 big block Corvette is always going to attract attention. But at $95,000, buyers expect clarity — documentation, detailed photos, mechanical history, and transparency.
Right now, they’re getting none of that.
Whether this second attempt finds a buyer remains to be seen. For anyone interested, a thorough inspection — and likely an in person visit — will be essential.

Mitch one day will learn that tri-power was a Pontiac marketing term and Chevy never used it. With research one will learn what Chevy used, if anything.
I’ve seen the term Tri-Power used for years and years in articles about 67-69 Corvettes with big block engines.
I would like to see the 1970 corvette convertible’s that are up for auction.
I used to have one, but sold it 40 years ago! I think if I could find another one I’d be interested in buying it.
