[VIDEO] Man Floors His Corvette While a Deputy Hangs On for Dear Life During Repossession

A routine civil court levy turned dangerous in Broward County when a man allegedly jumped into his yellow C7 Corvette coupe and dragged a sheriff’s deputy down the street while attempting to stop authorities from seizing the vehicle, according to a CrimeCamNow report and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

You can see the incident – and its aftermath – on a video posted by CrimeCamNow.

On Jan. 14, 2026, a deputy with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division arrived at a home to serve a writ of execution connected to a civil judgment against a man, his wife, and their jointly owned 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

The family — the defendant, his wife, and their adult son — initially cooperated. When they were unable to pay the judgment, they allowed the deputy into the garage to take possession of the Corvette.

The son jump started the car and moved it into the driveway, leaving it running. The deputy then allowed the owner to retrieve personal items from inside the vehicle.

What happened next unfolded rapidly on the deputy’s body camera video.

Instead of gathering belongings, the man allegedly climbed into the driver’s seat and attempted to shut the door on the deputy. The deputy tried to stop him, repeatedly telling him to step out:

“I need you to step out… I don’t want to hit you… What are you doing, man?”

The Corvette suddenly lurched forward with the deputy partially inside. The deputy was dragged down the street as he tried to reach in and stop the vehicle.

Once the car had stopped, the man’s son can be heard pleading:

“Please don’t kill him… Dad, relax… Do it for Favia.”

The deputy eventually stopped the vehicle and detained the driver with the son’s help. The deputy reported injuries to his lip and leg and told colleagues:

“I was hanging on the outside of it… He dragged me all this way.”

The Corvette struck an unknown object during the attempted escape, causing additional damage.

After complaining of chest pain, the man was transported to Memorial Miramar Hospital, where he was read his Miranda rights and declined to speak with investigators.

He was later charged with:

• Aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer
• Resisting arrest with violence

The deputy remained on scene with the family while supervisors and EMS responded.

During the incident, the man’s son told deputies his father had a long history of emotional instability and had previously been voluntarily hospitalized for mental health evaluation.

“When he gets frustrated like that, he just goes off,” the son said. “We have to be tough on him.”

The Corvette was eventually towed under the civil levy order. Deputies noted that despite the chaos, no bystanders were injured. Watch the video for yourself, and see how much restraint and compassion the officer showed once the car stopped. How would you have reacted?

  1. That is an incredible display of self-control, as exhibited by that officer who despite a very real threat to his personal safety never lost his composure, which would surely have escalated the situation in undetermined ways. He is to be commended.

  2. If I was that deputy being dragged down the street I wouldn’t have hesitated one second to pull my gun out and shoot his stupid ass. He deserved it!

  3. this individual with the Huntington’s disease is allowed to drive? Unable to think rationally and with a short fuse, that a recipe for disaster. The LEO did great – wow

  4. Luckiest perp in that state. FL cops don’t f___ around. Any other deputy would’ve shot him right in the face and he’d be DRT. And they’d have been 100% legally justified in doing so.
