A diverse group of collector vehicles will be offered for sale this Saturday by the Swafford Auction Group in Alabama and the consignment list includes five examples of America’s Favorite Sports Car.
The auction will commence this Saturday morning inside the old Kmart building located at 1525 Chestnut Bypass in Centre, Alabama beginning at 10:00 AM CDT. The sale also includes a special outdoor sales corral limited to project vehicles.
Of course, we’re always interested in these local auctions and Swafford has pulled together a number of Corvettes for the docket ranging from a 1968 Corvette Convertible to a 2016 Corvette Z06.
Here’s a few we are keeping our eyes on!
2016 Corvette Z06
Leading the pack is this very sharp-looking 2016 Corvette Z06 3LZ Coupe in Shark Gray. The Z06 has a set of visible Carbon Fiber rear window louvers which provides an old-school look over its stock appearance, and the windows are heavily tinted as well.
The Z06 is powered by the supercharged LT4 V8 engine which provides 650-hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The Z06 features an automatic transmission, factory chrome wheels, and a visible Carbon Fiber Z07-style rear spoiler. Mileage is listed at 46,963 and it has a clean Alabama title.
1968 Corvette Convertible
Chevrolet kicked off the Corvette’s “Shark” era with the 1968 Corvette. This example is offered in its original British Green exterior with a Black interior and features both a black convertible top as well as a vinyl removable hardtop. The Corvette is said to be all original and unrestored with just 35,000 actual miles since new.
Powering the first-year C3 Corvette is the L36 427/390-hp V8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The odometer reading shows 35,896 miles. It’s said that the car “runs and drives great,” and it comes with a copy of the build sheet as well as its original owner’s manual.
2000 Corvette Coupe
The C5 Corvette offers an attractive entry point into the Corvette hobby and this Torch Red 2000 Corvette Coupe with a Light Oak interior will surely generate interest with its $1 starting bid.
The 2000 Corvette Coupe is powered by a 5.7L LS1 V8 offering 345-hp and its coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The odometer reads just 47K miles. Other options include the chrome 5-spoke wheels while the removable roof panel offers an open cockpit driving experience.
