Even among celebrity owned Corvettes, one tied to Mario Andretti carries a different kind of weight. The racing legend’s personal 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is now up for auction on Hagerty, where bidding has already reached $50,000 with two weeks still on the clock.
The car was custom built for Andretti and delivered new in Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat, paired with Kalahari leather trimmed seats and suede inserts. Under the hood sits the supercharged LT4 V8 — a 650 horsepower monster that helped the C7 Z06 earn its reputation as a supercar slayer when it debuted in 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show.
Andretti’s Z06 left Bowling Green loaded with more than $30,000 in factory options, including:
• Z07 Ultimate Performance Package
• 3LZ Premium Equipment Group
• Carbon Fiber Visible Package
• Carbon Fiber Interior Package
• Z06 Black alloy wheels
• Carbon hood stripe
• Heated and ventilated seats
• Head up display, Bose audio, and 8” touchscreen
• Transparent removable roof panel
A personalized console plaque displays the VIN alongside Andretti’s name, and the engine bay carries two of his signatures — one on the underside of the hood and another on the battery cover. The listing even includes photos of Andretti signing the car.
Now showing about 8,300 miles, the Z06 comes with a deep stack of Andretti related items:
• Hand-written service records inside owner’s manual
• Photos and documents tied to Andretti
• Original title in Andretti’s name (the car was purchased by someone else in 2023)
• Window sticker ($109,535 MSRP) and factory literature
• Official Chevrolet correspondence
• Clean CARFAX and clean Louisiana title
The seller also notes a few imperfections: 2014 date code Michelin tires and minor front bumper wear consistent with road use.
Celebrity ownership doesn’t always add value, but Andretti isn’t just any celebrity — he’s one of the most accomplished IndyCar and Formula One drivers in motorsports history who was named Driver of the Decade in three decades. A Corvette built specifically for him, signed by him, and preserved with this level of documentation is the kind of provenance collectors pay attention to.
The auction ends Thursday, May 21 at 2 p.m. EDT, and with only two bids so far, the action is likely still ahead.
For Corvette fans, this Z06 isn’t just a high spec C7. It’s a piece of Andretti’s personal automotive history — and that’s a rarity you don’t see often.
