2027 Grand Sport Allocations are Here and Other Key Dates for Ordering

Today is Thursday and while we weren’t sure what to expect from Chevrolet in terms of 2027 model year information, they did come through for dealers today with some key dates and other relevant information. It looks like we will soon have all the pieces of the puzzle for ordering the 2027 model year Corvettes.

Pricing for all 2027 Corvettes is expected next week and the 2027 Corvette Order Guide is expected to drop on Monday, April 13. Sometimes it becomes available over the weekend, so we’ll be checking often for that information.

With the assembly plant closed for the week of June 1st, we are thinking the Start of Regular Production (SORP) will begin on that following Monday, June 8th. However, GM doesn’t list a specific date, and they only say production will start in 2nd Quarter (which we are already in).

Pre-orders for the 2027 begin on April 16th. That’s when dealers can start adding orders without allocations to the GM order system, which is where they are entered at Status 1100. Remember, they don’t really count until a dealer receives an allocation and matches it to your order.

As for the Grand Sport X, we have been told that GM is pushing back the ordering to late 2nd Quarter with production of the hybrid performance sportscar beginning sometime in 3rd Quarter. Again, no specific dates were provided.

This morning we reached out to our select group of dealers and heard that many have received allocations for the new Grand Sport, but no dealer we spoke with got a new 2027 Stingray allocation yet. We can’t say no Stingrays have been allocated, only that none of our dealers received one. It’s also possible that we’ll see a second order cycle for April as well which is when we’ll see them allocated.

Thanks to Rick Conti for sharing these key dates so that Corvette enthusiasts now have some additional information for when they can start placing their orders. Also, we’ll have a separate post up on the new Pitch Gray discussed in the video below:

  1. LOL!

2024 ER – Production started abysmally late and few were produced
2025 ER – Production ramps up, and is immediately overshadowed by 2026 hype
2026 ER – Production throttled to use up v1.0 motors – less produced than 2024
2027 GSX – Production delayed until very late in the year – expect 2024’s production figures

GM hates the AWD corvettes. If you love AWD, GM hates you. It boggles the mind that GM has now flubbed FOUR CONCECUTIVE years of AWD C8 production. That actually takes talent. It’s either biblical incompetence, or malice aforethought.
