Two weeks ago we were learning more about the Corvette Grand Sport and the new Grand Sport X based on leaks coming from the Chevrolet dealers meetings held out in Las Vegas. Those final confirmations became the linchpins to GM’s previous internal leaks that the new Corvette motor was a 6.7L V8, not a 6.6 as everyone else previously believed, and the 2027 model year parts book was featuring Grand Sport specific RPOs including the Z15 Grand Sport Heritage Package.
From that Vegas dealers meeting, we got confirmation from multiple sources that the E-Ray would become the Grand Sport X, the new LS6 would produce 535 hp, and the new enhanced GSX would see its power increase to 721 horsepower.
So yeah, not to toot our own horn but our readers were already well-informed when the Grand Sport’s curtain was officially lifted to reveal the two new models for 2027.
While phones and cameras were prohibited from the Las Vegas event, Chevy’s social media channel Team Chevy captured these images from the Grand Sport’s premiere and recently shared them on their social media channels.
Scott Bell, Vice President Global Chevrolet, had the honor of introducing the two new models and he was joined by NASCAR racer Connor Zilisch as well as another Team Chevy racer.

Conner’s dad obviously raised his boy right judging from these two throwback photos, and he took to X.com to tell a great Corvette story featuring a young Conner as well:
Connor helped introduce the new Corvette in Vegas recently. When he was 9, he & I went to the factory to pick up my new Vette. During the factory tour, he said nothing until a worker asked if he had questions. He froze, then said "Where do they put the new car smell in?" 😂 pic.twitter.com/WkDAEdAaeZ

We would have love to have been there to see these great new Corvettes premiered because any reveal of a new Corvette model demands a live audience of enthusiasts. The legendary Grand Sport has cemented itself as the “sweet Spot” in the Corvette’s lineup and now it does it with two models instead of one.
Which one are you choosing?
