Legendary designer Larry Shinoda once said the 1973 Corvette was his favorite C3 Corvette design. One look at this stunning, one owner Mille Miglia Red convertible—now listed on Craigslist out of Yakima, Washington, for $22,500—makes it easy to understand why.

In a world where many Corvettes change hands every year or two, finding one that has stayed with its original owner for more than half a century feels almost miraculous. Purchased new in Prosser, Washington, the car traveled just 50 miles to its lifelong home. Over the next 53 years, it has accumulated only 53,000 miles, a claim backed by extensive documentation.

According to the seller, the Corvette has been garage kept from day one and “extremely well taken care of.” Its original L48 350 V8 still sits under the hood, paired with an automatic transmission, and the car reportedly runs and drives like it did when new. All the lights, gauges, and even the original radio remain fully functional.

The paint has been refreshed at some point, but the car retains its distinctive 1973 features—most notably the one year only combination of a polyurethane front bumper and chrome rear bumper. The seller describes the Stingray as “beautiful inside and out,” a sentiment Shinoda himself would likely echo.

Enthusiasts on the Barn Finds website, where this gem was spotted, seem to agree.

MarkyMark writes: “My favorite C3 year. Nice find and fairly priced given mileage and history. The only things that would make it better are some white letter tires and perhaps a saddle interior.”
