[VIDEO] She Got Her Son’s Corvette STUCK On The Beach?!

Way back in the ’70s, seniors from my hometown would celebrate graduation by heading to Daytona Beach, where you could still drive up and down the shoreline with little more than a wink and a prayer. Cars got stuck all the time—some even disappeared under the tide before their owners made it back. Watching SandTow’s latest YouTube adventure brought all those memories rushing back.

This time, the star of the show wasn’t a sunburned teenager but a dark gray C8 Corvette Stingray that had been driven onto the beach during Bike Week and promptly sank into one of Daytona’s notorious soft spots. As SandTow’s driver put it, “We have a Corvette that’s gotten stuck down south… it’s pretty hard down there, but there are some soft spots.”

Navigating through a sea of motorcycles, the SandTow crew arrived to find the Stingray’s owner—well, technically the owner’s mother—already frazzled. She explained that bystanders had tried to help but wanted to yank the car out with a rope, perhaps taking the bumper with it. She wasn’t having it. “Hell no, let me call somebody else,” she told SandTow, who informs he that “we don’t snatch bumpers.”

Good call. The tow operator crawled under the car and immediately saw the danger: the rear-engine Corvette had packed sand tightly beneath the engine bay. “This thing can overheat,” he warned, relieved she hadn’t kept spinning the tires.

What followed was classic SandTow—equal parts technical skill, humor, and crowd interaction. The operator found a safe recovery point, joking, “Me and my girl, I found her sweet spot,” as he secured the hook.

With the owner behind the wheel, the team coached her through a slow, careful extraction. “Nice and easy… just like that,” he said as the Stingray inched free of the sand. Moments later, the Corvette rolled safely onto firmer ground.

The rescue quickly turned into a meet and greet. Fans approached for photos, autographs, and handshakes. One man told the crew he watches their videos all the time; another joked he was glad he finally got to see them in person—even if his own truck hadn’t gotten stuck.

As the sun dipped and beach officials announced that all vehicles had to clear the sand by 7 p.m., SandTow wrapped up another memorable save. The operator laughed about the wild day ahead of the summer season: “If that is a taste of what this summer’s going to be, we are going to have a blast.”

For the Corvette owner, it was a story she—and her son—won’t soon forget. For SandTow, it was just another day rescuing cars and entertaining the internet from the sands of Daytona.
