[VIDEO] ARC Driver: The C8 Grand Sport Is Everything We Hoped For (Except One Thing)

Everyone is pretty excited about Thursday’s reveal of the new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport which not only reintroduces the historic nameplate to the C8 mid-engine platform, but it also ushers in a new powerplant in the form of the 6.7-liter LS6 V8 engine.

One of those talking about the new Grand Sport is the YouTube channel ARC Driver, who blends facts and rumors with plenty of pop-culture references to create a storyline that we find pretty entertaining to watch.

In this latest video, he shows off the Grand Sport sighting from Saturday’s Sebring preview while also looking forward to the official reveal on Thursday. What will Chevrolet bring to the table? While we seem to know a lot about the upcoming Grand Sport, much is still unsubstantiated. As Zora was fond of saying, “Rumors sell magazines…not cars!” So, until Chevrolet reveals all later this week, keep that in mind.

However, speculation is fun and we’ve been really enjoying this lead up to the return of the legendary Grand Sport and hope it’s everything we think it is. ARC Driver makes some points we don’t necessarily agree with, but that’s just part of listening to all the various opinions out there of what people think the Grand Sport will be. “Finally we get our first official look at the new C8 Grand Sport and the car does not disappoint. GM also released an official teaser video which gives us our first look at the new V8 and lets us hear the exhaust note. The video was accompanied by the words: a name that’s earned every lap, which is GMs way of telling us that the new grand sport will be a true track focused machine. The grand sport first appeared over the weekend at the Sebring International Raceway before the start of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, and it was accompanied by a fleet of every previous grand sport model, man I would of loved to have been there.
