A Corvette owner in St. Louis woke up Thursday to a nightmare sight: their 2023 Corvette Stingray was gone.
According to social media posts, the Blade Silver Metallic hardtop convertible was stolen around 1 a.m., with home surveillance cameras capturing a male suspect walking straight up to the car, entering through the driver’s side, and driving off within seconds. The Corvette had been parked outside the owner’s home beside a Jeep, making the theft appear quick and deliberate.

Daytime photos show the Stingray sitting cleanly in a driveway; nighttime footage places it next to a white Jeep just moments before it vanished.
The owner is asking the public to keep an eye out and report any sightings immediately by contacting @lyriqameree or @1chimere. Neighbors are also encouraged to check their own security cameras for anything unusual around the time of the theft.

Voice of the People News reports that high end vehicle thefts continue to climb across the region, with thieves increasingly targeting newer models equipped with keyless entry systems—Corvettes included.

Please a nightmare? No one was injured, shot, or killed. This scenario is a perfect opportunity to buy a fresh new C8. I would get your insurance company to pay for it and let it be their problem? Remember this situation may be a hassle and/or inconvenient, but, it is not your wife, kids, or a family member. This is just some toy car that you can easily replace.

Could have been easily avoided. Keep it in the garage or spend $300 for the throttle controller/kill switch.
Maybe the owner could not make the payments and not able to sell it in this highly depreciating Corvette market. Could be on the bottom of the Mississippi River by now.
How is it possible to just walk up and start the Vette without the key fob? I don’t understand how these thieves can get those cars started? What good are these special fobs with push button start if someone without one can just start your car?!
This is why I believe that if you can’t keep it in a garage, then you should really buy something cheaper as a fun car.
How does that happen exactly? Somehow the FOB was copied? We have the “what” happened in this story, but not the “how”.
