The National Corvette Museum isn’t wasting any time when it comes to its latest construction project!
After breaking ground on October 24th on its new 60,000 square-feet facility that will house its growing collection of Corvettes, the Museum shared an update on the progress as they work through the winter with the goal of having it finished for the Summer of 2026.

Progress on our new 66,000-sq-ft Collections Facility continues. This space will be the future home for more of the Museum’s historic Corvettes, rare artifacts, and preservation efforts — bringing them together in a purpose-built environment that allows for behind-the-scenes access and expanded storytelling. Once complete, guests will be able to see more of Corvette’s legacy preserved for generations. Learn how support for this project makes a difference: https://corvettemuseum.org/expansion/
Also included in the update were these three photos which shows just how massive this building will be. The Collections Facility will house its growing collection of Corvettes, and it will also feature a preservation room and multiple service bays with lifts for insuring these cars are around for future generations. Other features include a detailing area as well as a conference room for hosting meeting and events.
It’s pretty exciting to see how fast this building is going up, and it something the NCM has been needing as it has approximated 150 Corvettes in the collection. One of the most recent donations is the Neil Armstrong 1967 Corvette Coupe which he leased for $1 during his astronaut training at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The NCM secured $2.1 million in funding while also opening the door for members to contribute. Check out the special page dedicated to the Collections Facility and if you can donate, please do!

I have yet to read a description of where this new building is located relative to the rest of the museum. Is it next to the museum, or do you have to drive there from the museum?
It’s incredible to think that the museum was the same square footage when it was completed in 1994.
