Back in January we saw Chevrolet release the performance stats of the new 2026 Corvette ZR1X which showcased the 1250-hp supercar on a dragstrip back in October. During those two days, the Corvette engineering team was able to get its fastest time of 8.675 seconds at 159 MPH in the quarter mile on a prepped surface.
In this YouTube short from Doug DeMuro’s podcast, he discusses those stats and he offers up a pro tip on how to evade getting kicked out of a drag strip for exceeding their performance limits with the car.
But the real treat comes at the very end when Doug comments that people are going to crash these cars and then gives the surprising answer of just who these new owners will be. The video is quick, so check it out below!
