As a Corvette enthusiasts, we’ve come to accept that Chevrolet doesn’t have to do a lot of mass marketing with the Corvette as it’s just not needed here in the States. No offense to my car dealer friends, but the cars just sell themselves. In fact, I would rather see Chevy put any promotional money into current incentives and rebates instead of producing costly commercials.
But in other places of the world, that’s a different story!
GM Specialty Vehicles is the entity responsible for importing Chevrolets to Australia and they’ve got a pretty good track record for turning out commercials that captures the fun and excitement of driving Corvettes.
In support of the Bathurst 12 Hour race that was held over the weekend, GM Specialty Vehicles released this new :60 commercial promoting its three C8 Corvette models offered in Australia and New Zealand. We’re not sure if the spot actually ran during the broadcast of the race as we caught it uploaded to YouTube.
The commercial highlights the Stingray as “V8 power you can feel.” The E-Ray provides an “Electric response all-wheel drive V8 power,” and the Z06 was “Track born with a flat plane heartbeat.”
However, the one version of the Corvette that we didn’t see in the commercial was one of the new limited edition 2026 Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Editions that we first told you were coming exclusively to Australia this year. Chevrolet is making just 12 examples and ordering one of them is the only way to secure a 2026 Z06 in Australia/New Zealand market this year.
