Even in the middle of familiar generations, each new model year of Corvette brings with it a degree of excitement. The annual arrival of new colors, wheels, and other options is a genuine event at CorvetteBlogger! The main headline for 2026 is the impending appearance of the 1,250 HP ZR1X, but there’s another RPO that we’ve been keen to see in public.
It goes by call sign “HVZ,” and it’s one of the most unique and creative things to hit any vehicle’s order guide in recent memory. It’s the Asymmetrical Package that turns any 2026 Corvette into Harvey Dent’s dream, effectively splitting the car down the middle both inside and out. Inside, the driver can choose a heavily bolstered Competition Sport Seat in bright Adrenaline Red, while the passenger gets a less-aggressive GT2 seat upholstered in more traditional black. The split personality motif is further driven home with a smattering of red on the “driver-focused” parts of the cockpit.
Outside, the theme continues with dual stripes, matte black on the passenger side, and red over the driver’s side. While many questioned how it presented in combination with 2026’s flashiest exterior color – the perfect Z06 for the season! – but there’s no denying its viability and impact when applied to a field of black as intended in the press materials. The whole thing takes the sinister appearance of one of our favorite non-Vettes and takes it to the next level.
According to the C8 Tracker, just 11 ZR1 orders have included the Asymmetrical option so far, and the first of those dark unicorns we’ve seen come up for grabs is currently listed on iLusso. It’s located at the Palm Beach branch, and it is number 255 of the 2026 run. In addition to the half-and-half livery that appears to have two GT2 seats instead of one Comp seat, its spec sheet includes the level II carbon fiber and stealth interior upgrades, black exhaust tips, the exposed carbon fiber split window, and the 20-spoke Carbon Flash wheels. Strangely absent on this Sith special are either shade of red brake calipers, with the orderer instead opting for the low visual impact of bronze.
With just 58 miles on the clock, the “sell your exotic” specialists are looking to extract $1,000 per day for a year for the pleasure of being the first serious owner. It’ll be interesting to see if the thrill of early adoption on one of ‘26’s signature options is enough to make anyone bite at a not-insignificant $365,000!

Dat b the right color! Not sure 390 HP is worth that much more than a Z06.
Who is writing this stuff? Black is “2026’s flashiest exterior color”??? Nothing against black Corvettes, but it is the furthest thing from a flashy color in the available palette. I also don’t care for what most will likely consider a mismatched interior scheme, but that’s just me. If that’s to your taste, knock yourself out.
Matt, sorry if it wasn’t immediately clear, but you can check the link in that sentence to see the festive color combo that people were questioning a few weeks ago – it’s definitely not black.
Matt Kase. Alex is referring to Roswell Green Metallic as 2026’s flashiest color. He did a previous article on here about a 26 Roswell Green Metallic Z06 with the Asymmetrical Package. If you click on where it’s highlighted in the article you will see it. The asymmetrical interior is ridiculous looking in a Corvette.

Horrible looking, first of all, a black Corvette is the first mistake, why, because like any black car, you miss out on the body lines, also a sports car should never be black, unless it’s a limousine sports car. At night, it will turn into a black jellybean; well, even in the daylight, it looks like one. Then you add the ‘makes no sense’ dual-color seats. All this adds up to taking $200.000 off the price.
Say what you want about black but I spent a few years selling cars and there’s one thing I can tell you for sure,……Black generally sells and re-sells pretty fast but the blue, orange, and greens sit for longer before they sell.
Yea , I agree black is not a good color for a vette! I had 6 , 7 vettes all colors but black. Black interior ok! Looking for another one!!

C1TOC8 is correct. All the style lines, ducts, vents and aero features tend to disappear into a black and reflective background on black cars. Only works well on smooth bodies like Buick Grand Nationals. They don’t have all that jazz.
