Our friends north of the border don’t get many chances to spot a 1973 Corvette rumbling down the road. But thanks to a new Bring a Trailer auction based in Canada, they’re getting a rare look at a vintage C3 Stingray right in their own backyard.
The ’73 model year has always stood apart. You could call it the first “hybrid” Corvette—not electric, of course, but a blend of old and new. It debuted the now famous polyurethane front bumper while still wearing a chrome bumper out back. That one year-only mix gave the car a distinctive profile, and it’s no surprise that legendary Corvette designer Larry Shinoda called the ’73 his favorite of the entire C3 generation.
This particular convertible is already sitting at a $7,000 high bid with six days left, and it’s easy to see why. Dressed in Classic White with a black soft top and matching black leather interior, it’s a clean, handsome example. Sure, the paint has a few imperfections, but nothing that keeps it from turning heads—especially in Canada, where Corvettes are far from everyday sightings.
Under the skin, the car sticks to the formula that made these early ’70s C3s so appealing. It’s powered by a 350ci L48 V8 paired with a four speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end. The 190 hp/270 lb-ft setup may not be the fire breathing monster of the LT 1 era, but it delivers plenty of classic small block fun.
This is actually a relist—the car sold on Bring a Trailer in December 2025, but the winning bidder failed to complete the purchase. According to the seller, the issue had nothing to do with the car itself, and BaT has since restricted the buyer’s account.
Now offered again, this time in Canada, the Corvette comes with Ontario registration, which serves as the ownership document there.
For Corvette fans north of the border—or anyone looking for a clean, driver friendly C3 with a unique backstory—this Classic White ’73 might be worth watching as the auction winds down.
