For those of you who love Riptide Blue or Hysteria Purple Metallic, you are hereby put on notice to get those orders in if possible as these two exterior colors for the Corvette will not be returning for the 2027 model year.

Chevrolet made that announcement to dealers today and we got the word from our friend Rick ‘Corvette’ Conti who posted the news to his Instagram page.

2026 Exterior Corvette Colors

Rick tells us there are no other details regarding these two colors, so we will probably see one of these two scenarios play out:

Scenario 1: The best case is that both colors are available up through the end of ordering for the 2026 model year. We don’t have any idea of when that will be but the last few model rollovers have happened in September with the last ordering periods happening somewhere in June/July.

Scenario 2: These colors could be phased out months in advance of the 2026 model year ending, leaving those potential customers high and dry.

There is also the possibility that one color makes it to end of the model year while the other is phased out early. We won’t know that info until Chevy tells their dealers, and quite frankly by that time it could be too late.

Now that we know these colors are coming to an end, we jumped over to C8Tracker.com to get the latest production numbers so that we can keep our running total of 2026 exterior colors produced. I shared a similar chart back in November and the only change in rank is that Red Mist has moved into 4th ahead of the new Roswell Green.

2026 Exterior Corvette Colors

Knowing that GM is getting ready for a new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport, might we see the return of a dark Blue exterior in the same vein as Admiral Blue or Elkhart Lake Blue as the signature color?

What two colors would you like to see offered on the 2027 Corvettes? Let us know in the comments below!

Here’s a video from Rick Conti talking about the dealer memo today and he also drops some information that the Stars & Steel package will cost $9,995 (RPO USA), as well as some of the expected constraints for the January order cycle.

  1. I would absolutely love to see Admiral Blue make a comeback! Or even, God willing, Le Mans Blue. Those are two of the best Corvette blues ever! The names are great too, since Admiral Blue references the Corvette’s naval name, and Le Mans is just good old fashioned racing.

  2. I would love to see Amplify Orange again.
Sebring Orange is inferior because of the metallic look and reddish appearance.

  3. My best guess is that Chev will replace those 2 discontinued colours with 2 different shades of blue, which I think would make sense as it currently offers 2 different shades of red. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing a new darker metallic green added to the lineup, perhaps along the lines of Lime Rock Green.

Part of the issue is that, unless you are okay with going monochrome by choosing either black as the body colour or going with body colour exterior trim, whatever body colour you choose needs to go well with the C8’s various bits of black or near black (carbon flash or carbon fiber) exterior trim. Some of the current Corvette colours go well with black or near black trim because they are bright colours that provide really good contrast, including Arctic White, Torch Red, Competition Yellow Tintcoat Metallic, and Sebring Orange Tintcoat. Blade Silver Metallic, although not a bright colour, still contrasts well and seems a natural combination with black or near black trim. Other colours, although beautiful on their own, do not always go well with black or near black trim. I would point to Caffeine Metallic as a recent example of a beautiful body colour that was not complemented by the C8’s black or near black trim.

Oh for the days when exterior trim was chrome/stainless and paired well with virtually any colour!

Perhaps I date myself. Oh well!

  4. I still have my 2006 orange (DSOM) Z06, and still love the color; darker and prettier than some others like Sebring Orange.

But that aside, I would like to see a color that matches the current Hysteria Purple on the Chevy website, not the actual car color! Maybe call it Harkonnen Purple…

  5. Personally, the purple never looked purple on any photograph… If they want a purple, dig up the dark metallic purple from the mid-90s C4.

I think brining back Carlisle Blue would rock! I still think they need a dark green, aka Polo Green Metallic or the dark green from the C7. Those would be sweet.

DougR – I agree, the Caffeine Metallic was odd. A great colour on the wrong car.

  6. They need to bring back Radar Blue. But I have a feeling they will simply replace Riptide with something like ELB, and we won’t get a true purple.

  7. No more Blue? Elkhart Lake was too dull, Riptide was alright, but Rapid takes the cake. It matches the screemin’ nature of the C8

  8. I would love to see the return of Black Rose, saw an older Corvette in excellent shape with that color at the grocery store a few days ago. WOW! What a drop dead gorgeous color.

  9. I like the pearl white of the ‘23 anniversary but didn’t like the light grey GT2 seats with it. just my opinion.

  10. If the purple would have been a true purple instead of blue/purple it might have sold better. Bring back Laguna Blue, my favorite blue. Green Corvettes just don’t entice me.

  11. I would like to see a shark grey make a return along with something like a night race blue thats metallic or pearl. These last few blues were just that the blues.

  12. I also think it’d be awesome if chevy returned to the C6 rear lights on the C8. The camaro look is terrible make the Vette look like a Corvette!

  13. Bringing back Admiral Blue Metallic should be a must if the Grand Sport really does come back. Candy Tangerine Pearl would be an awesome Corvette color that has never been offered before.

  14. those purple and yellow and oranges are by far the most bold and eye catching and fun and essential muscle car colors… so of course, in news that everyone already knew, Corvette owners have no taste and no class. naturally the majority of their orders are black and white and silver because the people who would buy a Corvette are vanilla milk toast brain. they’re definitely usually older. Corvette is boomer coded as a brand. and clearly they’re a boring demographic.

  15. Riptide Blue is metallic, but you only see that up close. It needs to “pop” like Red Mist does. And not being exclusive to the Corvette doesn’t help.

  16. Hypersonic gray or cyber grey, also Black Rose. snoopaloop is a few brain cells short of a moron. At lease he can write, or maybe he got his boomer mama to write for him.

  17. Lemans Blue for and a true bright vibrant purple like viola purple pearl metallic tricoat paint would go well with a 70th Silver Anniversary Edition Grand Sport combining either sterling silver striping or interior mixed with this bright vibrant purple color with some white ceramic. Just a thought.

  18. I would love to see the Black Rose return. I have a ’17 Z06 stage III ground effects and love the way it changes when viewed at night, almost black, to the bright sparkle in the sun. The color also goes well with the black badging, trim and blade wheels.
Mine looks showroom fresh and I get a lot of comments every time I drive it.

  19. Actually, just looked up a rarer color that might have been applied with a Grand Sport Corvette I could be wrong though, it’s called Medium Purple pearl metallic. Look it up interesting purple for 2027 if not bring it back on a more futuristic c9 or c10 GM .

  20. If they bring back Super Sonic Blue or Black Rose, I’ll have to cave and buy a 2027. I’d prefer to continue waiting for the C9 exterior improvements.

  21. Agree, if Black Rose returns it’s a Grand Sport or E Ray for me. I would happily pay an up charge to get that color, it is absolutely stunning!

  22. While on the subject of paint, return the standard blacked out “A” pillars, roof and rear nacelles to body color on ZR1 convertibles. Those black sections make it look like a Corvette that was burned half way down in a car fire. That “look” also reminds me of a 1970s era vinyl roof – which as a styling feature hasn’t aged well. I don’t care if the roof is carbon fiber or not – cover it up with paint.
