[GALLERY] Midyear Monday: 2026 NCRS Winter Regional Edition

Welcome to Monday, Corvette fans!

One of my original reason for creating our Midyear Monday posts was as an excuse to ward off “a case of the Monday’s.” It’s that feeling of being sad the weekend is over and everyone has to go back to work. A good Midyear Monday post as always something fun to put together, and I’d like to think it gave a certain subset of our readers something to look forward to.

Our subjects are always the 1963 to 1967 Corvettes, affectionately called the Midyears once the C3s started production. It’s funny when people on social media tell us to call them C2s, but that name designation didn’t come around until the late 1990s with the introduction of the C5. Suddenly, every generation was preceded by a Capital C…but anyways!

On Saturday, we drove over to the east coast of Florida where the NCRS Winter Regional was being held at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, FL. We’ve been attending the NCRS Winter Regional fairly often over the years, but this was our first NCRS event at this new venue, and we thought it was a pretty great location for this type of show. Also lucky for us is that these 2nd generation Corvettes were the most plentiful at the judging event.

Speaking of judging, there is a new Open Class, and it attracted several midyears that wouldn’t have had a place in the traditional judging where the standard is comparing it to one that came straight off the showroom floor back in the day. One was a modified 1965 vintage racer, another was a restomod powered by a 572-ci Chevy crate motor, and the third being a custom 1963 Corvette from famous car builder George Barris.
