Greetings and Happy Monday, Corvette Nation!

We just got back from a whirlwind trip to the 2025 Corvettes at Carlisle, and the show was just as amazing as ever with so many great Corvettes to check out, and good friends to check in with.

The weekend was fantastic weather-wise as it improved each day, and that certainly brought out the classics to the World’s Largest Corvette Show including a huge contingent of 1963 to 1967 Corvette Sting Rays that we call the Midyears. There are few events that pack in this kind of variety, and it was great to meet some of the owners as well.

With this being our 20th Anniversary of CorvetteBlogging, I found myself to be a little more nostalgic towards these second generation cars at the show than I usually feel. Just seeing a midyear driving down the street is not something you see every day, and so kudos to those who drove their cars a distance to there. Seeing so many dedicated owners and their cars has given me a fresh perspective to want to fix up a few of the issues that have been plaguing my 1966. If anyone knows of a good Corvette mechanic in the Tampa Bay area, please drop it in the comments or send me an email.

Back to the show! One of the stops we make every year is the ’63-67 Sting Ray Registry’ to catch up with our friend Bill and his 1964 Black/Silver Coupe. He’s always got a hair-raising story about traveling in his midyear when something decides not to work correctly, although this time it just happened to be a tree to come down across a two-lane road, blocking his path!

We’ve also met a man who restored his late father’s 1967 Corvette with the help of his father-in-law and the tribute that resulted. Look for that video to go up soon.

In the meantime, check out our huge gallery of C2 Corvettes from the 2025 Corvettes at Carlisle Show:

  1. My C8 is my 14th Vette and I like it a lot.
But man, those are the sweetest C2 coupes I’ve ever seen. The modded ones with the flared fenders and wider tires are truly awesome.

  2. Anybody notice something here? The fact that there’s how many hundreds of “rare” cars just at this one event. Just imagine how many are not there! These cars are far from “rare” and anyone paying the absolutely insane overpriced amounts really needed to pay attention not dollars! They are as rare as a McDonald’s “burger”

  3. John, I agree. The prices on the C-2’s especially those that need much work are very high. I understand it is up to what the market will bear, But I had C-2’s when I was 19 to 25 and the most I paid or sold one for back then was $1000 . They were a dime a dozen back then. I would like to pick up a good driver quality C-2 but cannot find myself willing to pay these prices!
