Corvettes for Sale: 3,300-Mile 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe C7.R Edition

One of the 650 C7.R Edition Z06 coupes from 2016 is searching for a new home – again – on Bring a Trailer.

This special edition, built as a tribute to the Corvette Racing C7.R endurance machines, last sold on BaT nine months ago. Now the current owner is shaking up his garage, planning to trade this 3,300-mile Z06 and a Lotus Emira for a Porsche 992 GTS.

With six days still on the clock, bidding has already reached $48,000. And for anyone who predicted C7 values would crater once the mid engine C8 arrived, this auction is a reminder: not so fast. This one likely has plenty of runway left before it tops out.

With the 2016 C7.R package, Chevy paid tribute to the factory racing team’s success that included a class victory at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Available in coupe or convertible fashion, they were offered with black or Corvette Racing Yellow paint, over a black leather interior with suede microfiber accents and yellow stitching, a high-gloss version of the carbon fiber interior trim package, and competition sport seats with suede microfiber steering wheel and shifter.

All C7.R Editions included the Z07 Performance Package with enhanced aerodynamics, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (though these have been replaced with others in 2023 and 2024), and Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes. They were available with either a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic like this one has. This car is one of 234 automatic C7.Rs built in Corvette Racing Yellow.

Underneath the hood, of course, was the Z06’s LT4 V8 that pumped out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

This particular car has seen thoughtful care under its current owner. Paint protection film now covers the front end, rocker panels, A pillars, rear spats, windshield, and lower door sections. A ceramic coating was applied to the body, wheels, and brake calipers. In March, the owner also flushed the coolant and brake fluid and replaced the battery and air filters.

Predicting the collector market is always a gamble, but low mile, limited production Z06s like this C7.R Edition seem poised to keep climbing—especially when they present this clean and this close to flawless.
