[VIDEO] Savage Geese Kicks Off Its Build Series with an Upgraded C8 Corvette Stingray

Last week, the Savage Geese YouTube channel used the mighty C8 Corvette ZR1 to murder high-dollar GTD and GT3 RS heavyweights. This week, they returned to the dual scenes of the crime: URW Automotive and Autobahn Country Club behind the non-circular steering wheel of another eighth-generation Corvette. This time, though, it was with affordability on the mind!

Now, The Goose has a new series on the loose. It’s all about optimizing attainable performance cars for track and performance use, and the first subject is the entry-level branch of the Crossed Flag family tree. Even though it’s suffered from some price creep over the years, the first-ever midengined Chevrolet Corvette has always been a bargain, especially for the amount of firepower and usually unattainable exoticism it offers.

For 2026, the Stingray starts at $70k, though most are optioned into six-figure territory. But the days of ADMs and market adjustments are long gone, and it isn’t out of the ordinary to find one $10,000 or more in rebates attached to it, while (intact) used examples can be had in the low to mid $50s.

For those paltry sums of money, buyers are treated to 490-495 horsepower, more torque than a new Z06, and the capability of launching to 60 in under 3 ticks on its way to a blazing 11.2 quarter. Even though those numbers have been overshadowed by burlier C8s in the past six years, the fact that the former is about half a second quicker than the 638-horse C6 ZR1 yardstick while the latter still ties the Blue Devil is nothing shy of incredible, proving that the base car is still an unbelievable athlete that deserves more recognition.

Today’s video is stage I of their C8 project, where they build a cost-effective foundation that future mods will build upon. It features a detailed list of parts and another Britt Casey lap time that puts their accessible supercar in 911 Turbo territory by shaving an impressive 2.5 seconds from a stock Z51’s time. As this Super Stingray continues to materialize, rumor has it that SG has a Z06 and an E-Ray in store for their new series, as well. We, in the immortal words of Bart Scott, CAN’T WAIT!
