In 1974, Chevrolet killed the big block Corvette. This Fresno survivor might be one of the best left.
Being offered on Craigslist out of Fresno – “always a California car,” owner Dan says in his listing – this Stingray features one of the 3,913 LS5 454/270 horsepower V8s under the hood. Most left the St. Louis factory that year with the weaker 350/200 horsepower V8, with another 1,741 boasting of the LT1 350/255 horsepower.
The list of features also includes air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, Turbo Hydra-matic automatic transmission, and “beautiful” red paint.
Best of all, Dan says “everything” remains in mint condition and still works “like new.”
We have an eagle eye, and at least in the photos, we agree with that assessment about the condition. We couldn’t spot any flaws in the paint, and the chrome bumpers show no signs of pitting or discoloration. Underneath, the frame looks to be in great condition, too.
The owner calls this a “must-see” car. Would you agree with him?
