[VIDEO] Fleeing C8 Corvette Z06 Driver Who Hit 140 MPH Captured with a Grappler

Just ask the driver of this Arctic White C8 Corvette who had allegedly shared on social media Sept. 9 a video showing him speeding at 142mph on a downtown Tempe, Arizona bridge.

Earlier, police had received multiple complaints that someone in a Corvette was driving recklessly and creating an unreasonable amount of noise in Tempe.

Ultimately identified as Mazen Alassmari, the driver got away that night, despite police video showing an officer on a motorcycle asking him to stop before he allegedly ran through multiple red lights to get away.

However, he wasn’t quite so lucky the next night.

Police just released a video showing officers using a grappling device mounted on the front of a patrol car that deploys a net that wraps around a fleeing car’s rear tire, in this case bringing the Corvette to an abrupt and safe halt.

Alassmari faces charges of felony flight, and his Corvette was also impounded, according to police.

  1. just curious , at 142 mph is that 4th or 5th , reality , the car has not even stretched it’s legs…sadly , some say that’s too fast for conditions , how can they guess what condition my conditions in……. it is just so difficult to keep that right foot from mashing that motor…..:-) but that super speeder law has got my attention…. jail for running or jail for stopping….. what’s the difference….and ,,,i have a little rabbit left in me…..call me the ginger bread man,,,oooops -i gotta go…………………………
