[VIDEO] Wheeler Takes His 2025 ZR1 Back to the Drag Strip for More RUNS

Wheeler and his Arctic White 2025 Corvette ZR1 were recently back at Orlando Speed World to make some quarter-mile runs.

The last time he was at Orlando Speed World, they told him he would need some additional safety equipment as the ZR1 was just too fast. As this was a private track event, he was hoping he could get away with just the helmet and a Hans device for safety, and that looks to be case.

For this track event, Wheeler decided to put the large wing back on the C8 ZR1 to see what that does with his trap times. When he took it off last time, he did see an increase in the overall speeds, but it was cooler that night as well, so by adding the wing back on, will it make much of a difference?

It’s still hot here in Florida, and Wheeler says the temps were still around 93-degrees when he made his first run. He completed that quarter mile in 9.846 seconds at 143.66 mph. Comparing this one to his runs without the wing, Wheeler noted that the wing seemed to make a difference in terms of trap speed, even though the temperature was about 9 degrees cooler during my earlier runs.

After letting the car cool down and catching some of the other competitors do their thing, Wheeler took the ZR1 out and this time ran 9.88 at 144.6 mph for his second run, and the third run was completed in 9.91 seconds at 143.p MPH.

As Wheeler was preparing for his fourth and final run of the evening, another one of the competitors hit the wall in his heavily modified Corvette. But the staff at Orlando Speed World was able to get it cleaned up and ready for more racing action. Wheeler’s final pass came in at 9.94 seconds at 144.86 MPH which again really shows the consistentcy of the ZR1 in both its overall time and trap speeds.
