If you’re looking to get into a C2 on a budget, you could do worse than this 1963 Corvette convertible being offered for $49,000 on Craigslist out of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
We love the overall look of this dark red Sting Ray, especially with the matching hardtop, though the owner makes no secret that the paint is about 15 years old and is a “10-footer” with some dings and cracks.
The car won’t win any points for originality as the front clip is from a ’67, and it still sports the wheel flares applied back in the ’70s ‘by someone who knew what they were doing,” in the estimation of the current owner.
Some may find fault with the aftermarket slots inside BFGoodrich Radial T/As on all four corners, but we think they add to the sporty, time-appropriate vibe of this customized hot rod.
While this Sting Ray may not have a perfect paint job, it can boast of having had a lot of mechanical work done, not the least of which is a new small-block 383 4-bolt main V8 built by Budlong Motorsports with aluminum heads, complete roller valvetrain, and Holley 650 carburetor that now pumps out 420 horsepower.
You’ll also find a new water pump, power steering pump, alternator, DeWitts aluminum radiator with electric fan, Bow Tie transmission 700r4 four-speed overdrive automatic transmission, driveshaft, and U-joints.
Other new parts include Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, Hydro Boost power brake booster, and complete suspension with Duntov Motors offset trailing arms, half shafts and U-joints, fiberglass leaf spring, front A-arms, hubs, bearings, and Bilstein shocks.

The interior is in great condition, but may not be up to everyone’s tastes. The seats, taken from an ’84, feature new custom two-tone leather covers and look out of place to our eyes. You’ll also spot new carpet and a Dakota Digital gauge cluster (though the original functional cluster is included, and the clock still works).

That’s funny, your calling the car a 63 it doesn’t have the correct front fender panel on it for a 63 🤷🤷 and you want $49,000.00 for it on top of it don’t even have the correct engine in it and the fender wells are ruined 🤷🤷 good luck with that.
