First things first, THIS is the new green that Chevy should be offering on the C8 Corvette.

If the new Roswell Green coming in 2026 is a reference to aliens, then this wildly customized 2001 C5 takes things a step further and really launches the Corvette out of this world.

Designed to mock a Ferrari F40 – complete with Prancing Horse logos prominently displayed all over the car – this custom Chevy takes the description “convertible” to the next level.

Not having doors and a roof may not be very practical, but this car definitely isn’t missing the fun factor!

Now some lucky person will definitely become the next owner by the end of the auction slated for Tuesday, May 27 at 3 p.m., as this unique “Corrari” or “Fervette” is being offered at no reserve as part of the “Rocket City” collection on Hagerty.com.

With four days left in the auction, the high bid for this nine-owner C5 that has lived in Florida, Oregon, Arizona, Georgia, and Arkansas (with a side trip or two to Jupiter and Mars) is just $5,000.

Besides what’s NOT there, there is plenty STILL there to like about this car – including a supercharged 5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine under the hood, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. You can even see the ProCharger D-1SC centrifugal supercharger through the vented hood.

The car also features a large rear wing, four-wheel disc brakes, massive 345-series Mickey Thompson drag radials, Braum street/race seats with racing harnesses in the white and black interior, a roll cage with individual roll bars (a nice touch considering there aren’t any doors to protect you), headers and stainless steel dual exhaust, and carbon fiber-look engine covers. If you don’t like the green wrap, which admittedly does show some signs of wear around the edges in close-up photos, you can always remove it. Personally, we’d hate to see this car go back to its “boring” stock appearance because once it’s seen as is, you just can’t “unsee” it.

Other things you might want to know about the car is that the check engine light stays on, the wipers are missing, and the radio doesn’t work – not that you’d really want to listen to anything other than the beautiful music coming from the engine.

Are you ready to take a trip into outer space with this crazy C5?

  1. I am a member of the Hagerty site using my other alter ego, “Bogus” (same one I use on Corvette Forum). My comment there still stands.

Sometimes, people need to know when to say when… and when shoulda been yelled much earlier. That is all.
