Corvettes for Sale: 1450-Mile 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Hennessey HPE800 Offered on BaT

As one of only 500 C7.R Editions produced for the U.S. market in 2016, this Corvette Z06 coupe was already a pretty rare car, but then the original – and current – owner commissioned Hennessey Performance of Sealy, Texas to add their HPE800 performance package.

The result is this stunning example with just 1,450 miles on the odometer that’s being offered on Bring a Trailer through the next two days, with the current bid sitting at $82,500.

The C7.R Editions – recognizing Corvette Racing’s class win at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans – were available in two colors, black or Corvette Racing Yellow like this one. All of them included the Z07 Performance Package (enhanced aerodynamics, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes) and were offered in both coupe and convertible configurations. Buyers could choose an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed manual, like this one has.

Offered only in the top-of-the-line 3LZ trim, the C7.Rs came with their own unique sequential VIN, with this one being #206.

The exterior of the car featured the visible carbon fiber ground effects package, black wheels with a yellow accent stripe, and yellow brake calipers. The grilles and vents were finished in Spectra Gray Metallic.

Inside, the package included a black leather interior with suede microfiber accents and yellow stitching, a high-gloss version of the carbon fiber interior trim package, and Competition Sport seats with suede microfiber steering wheel and shifter. The C7.R logo was both embossed and embroidered into the seat backs, and the word “Edition” was laser-etched into the seat, which was a first-time use of the laser etching process on a Corvette.

Preliminary MSRP for the C7.R Edition Coupe started at $111,400, plus the $995 delivery fee. Only 129 of the coupes wound up being built in Corvette Racing Yellow and with the 7-speed manual, and this one is further marked as VIN 011 by Hennessey Performance.

The HPE800 performance package took the stock supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine and added high-flow cylinder heads, custom HPE camshaft, upgraded pulleys, upgraded intercooler heat exchanger, and HPE engine management software – – upping horsepower from 650 to 800.
