Authentic C4 Corvette Go Kart Offered for Sale on Facebook Marketplace

A man on Facebook says his father owned a GM dealership when he was a child and was able to obtain this red C4 Corvette go-kart for him.

He remembers hitting a fence post as a child, cracking the original body. A body shop wound up repairing the damage, but a new body was also ordered so now they have two bodies for the go-kart.

Fast forward a few years, and the child, now a father himself, recently took the go-kart out of storage and got it running again for his kids. However, they want a go-kart with more room, so they’re selling this one to get a two-seater.

It’s being offered on Facebook Marketplace for $1,500, but no shipping is available so the new owner will have to pick it up in the Gallatin, Tennessee area, a little northeast of Nashville.

Neither of the two Corvette bodies wound up being installed back in the day, but they’re both included with the sale after being stored indoors all these years. The seller says the new body was just taken out of the crate for pictures.

He has worked on the go-kart to get it operational again and says it now “runs excellent.” The original Tecumseh engine is in place, but the original carburetor has been replaced with a new one that works “perfectly.” The brakes are also functional.

The original plastic seat cracked over the years and has been replaced with an adjustable, sliding seat. He says the front axle has also been repaired and notes that the frame has surface rust but no rot.

“The kart drives and operates great,” he concludes.

By the way, in case you’re interested in Corvette go-karts in general, while writing this story, we just happened to run across another example of a C3-style go-kart being offered on Bring a Trailer at no reserve. The high bid on that one is $500, with the auction ending April 5. You can see that one at Bring a Trailer
