Some people don’t care much for a white interior in a car, due to how hard they believe it is to keep clean.
As for me, such an interior always reminds me of my brother’s first car, a 1965 Impala SS with white vinyl short bucket seats that looked a lot like the ones in this 1964 Corvette convertible being offered on Bring a Trailer.
Coupled with the Riverside Red paint (the most popular color that year) and the white soft top, along with a red dash and white seats and door panels (accented by a strip of red carpet at the bottom), it certainly makes for a stunning combination on this C2.
Add in a 327/365 V8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor and finned aluminum valve covers, mated with a four-speed manual transmission, and you’ve made a good thing even better.
The current owner of the car, who bought it in 2021 out of Maine and moved it to Texas, replaced the valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and rear main seal as well as the exterior mirror in February 2021, and installed a new battery last October.
This vintage Sting Ray is heavily optioned for the day, with power windows, AM/FM radio, and factory air with the Delco compressor (though it doesn’t work).
With the current bid sitting at $45,000, the auction is slated to come to an end in five days. Would you be “blue” to have this “red and white” Corvette in your driveway?
