In case you can’t fit a new C8 into your budget right now, maybe you could consider Lego’s less-expensive take on the eighth-generation Corvette Stingray that will be arriving in homes in a couple of months.
While the new model is supposed to be a Stingray, some folks think it looks more like a Z06. Either choice is stretching it a bit to us as the Lego Technic Corvette Stingray, as it’s officially designated by the company, looks a bit unfinished in our eyes – more like one of those real cutaway deals designed to show the inner workings of the car.
Lego says you can pre-order the model now, for shipment starting March 1. It’ll also be usable in the game Asphalt Legends Unite, if you’re so inclined.
The kit features a whopping 732 pieces, including a “functional” V8 LT1 engine under the decklid, which is also “functional” and opens and closes to show off the 495-horsepower powerplant. Also included is a differential between the wheels, and the front wheels can even turn through the use of a knob on the roof that makes the model look more like a law enforcement car with a light on top.
It is also a big model, some 10.5 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, and 3.0 inches tall.
So, enthusiasts out there, does this kit interest you in the least?

Looks terrible!
Why do they use a Z06 picture on the backside of the package instead of a picture of a stingray?
I think that this is a hard pass.
It looks like a 1979 post-apocalyptic and dystopian action film vehicle. Something madmax , (badge #MFP4073) would drive, staring a very young Mel Gibson?
PS C8 are LT2 engine for the record, LOL.
Thanks,
Ray

REALISTIC FEATURES – This Corvette model kit includes moving functions with steering, a moving 6-cylinder engine, differential and opening doors and hood
No way would I waste $60 and the time it would take to build this very ugly looking model.
What is Lego thinking? Of all the larger superstars they’ve released this has to be the ugliest. Very disappointing.
That is a sad attempt by Lego, hope no one waste their money on that.
This is offensive to the smooth clean lines of a Corvette.
One of the worst Lego car models to date, as a C8 owner, I find this poor effort sorely lacking. I’ve been waiting for a good technic representation of the newest Corvette, but this looks so grating to my eyes. Honestly, the Corvette challenge model featured in the CR8 and C2 set is a much nicer looking representation of the real thing, even if it’s a smaller scale. It’s almost like the Lego designer in charge of this project hated the stylized lines of the C8. Hard pass from me, and a big disappointment as a Lego and Corvette fan.
