Welcome Corvette lovers to another great Sunday post from Mike Furman. We’ve got a fun one for you today with some great delivery photos in which one of Mike’s customers lets his hair down to jam during a special R8C delivery, and he had some special guests come over from the Assembly Plant to witness the once-in-a-lifetime performance. If you think that was fun, the collection of throwback pics has the nation’s number 1 Corvette seller saying it could be one his best throwback posts yet! ~12/4/24~This morning on my way to Criswell Chevrolet I stopped at Tony’s Corvette Shop. I am fortunate that I live less than 2 miles from Tony’s shop and I have known Tony since 1989 when he worked on my 1959 and 1961 Corvette’s. Tony and his Vette partner Greg put together the most extraordinary book of info and factory pictures on the 1963 Z06. I had called Tony the day before informing him I have these two GM/Dealer parts bins that Gary and RJ Konner (Malcolm Konner Chevrolet Paramus, NJ) had gifted me full of Chevrolet and Konner memorabilia several years back.
I knew Tony would appreciate these vintage (70’s/80’s) bins as he not only has an incredible Corvette collection he also has a well stocked parts department better than many Chevrolet dealerships. I left knowing these bins were left in good hands and he couldn’t beat the price, free.
Didion was prolific—she was a novelist, an essayist, a reporter, a writer of legendary magazine feature articles, a political journalist, and a screenwriter, and enviably successful in all those endeavors. Her writing was sharp, acerbic, and skeptical, bringing to readers a picture of what was truly going on in the world—no matter how chaotic, unflattering, or unresolved that truth could be.

Kenneth B’s coat makes it starkly apparent how off Hysteria is. And I feel that Edge Yellow would have looked far better than CY and VY accents.
I think you are right about these being your best ever throw backs. That William Shatner shot is a classic all by itself!!!!!! Loved the shots of the 1st ’53’s also. Seeing a ’53 in the flesh while riding my bike after school 4th grade cemented my love of all things Corvette for the rest of my life Now 81 & led to my 1st Corvette ’62 Roman Red Fuelie. 18 Corvettes later & counting “Come On ZR1”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Beach Boys album cover with them standing next to Dennis’s ’63SWC is what started me on my love of Corvettes, that exact picture got me hooked. By 1970, I had my own SWC. That was the one “I should have kept”……………….
I like the eye catching green big block 69 Corvette. What’s wrong with those guys that let their dog or cat sit on their Corvette?

Great collection. Takes me back to my first ride in a 1963 Convertible with my uncle who owned a Lincoln Mercury dealership. He took it on trade and brought it home. I just happened to be there when he arrived. I begged him to take me for a ride and he agreed. That sealed the deal. I have been a Corvette owner/lover ever since (31 Corvettes and counting). Keep doing the “throw backs” Mike. Thanks for the memories.

What a throwback and plenty of B&W photos too!! I still don’t understand why we allowed someone to sit on our cars back then……to say nothing of a dog!
