When the previous owner of this 1959 Corvette bought it in 1973, he probably had big plans for his new sports car.
Unfortunately, despite owning the car for the past 51 years, the restoration never took place, and it’s been off the road and in storage since 1987.
Now, this forlorn Corvette is being offered on eBay Motors by an Astoria, New York dealer with an asking price of $39,500.
He says this Corvette has been “patiently awaiting a straight forward and well-deserved restoration.”
While it’s not running at this time, the car is nevertheless described as coming “complete” and being “highly original.” It also includes both tops and a four-speed manual transmission, along with a likely 283/245 horsepower V8 engine.
Nowadays, the original Frost Blue paint is worn and littered with signs of previous repairs, but the body overall looks to be in decent enough shape and the chrome bumpers are in place. Replacement parts for the blue interior, meanwhile, are readily available in the aftermarket, and it even looks like the seat bottoms may already have been done (though it’s hard to tell in the only tightly cropped image of the interior).
Still, once it’s complete, this 1959 could be a fair investment since Hagerty rates such Corvettes in “good” condition to be worth $56,000.

Potentially a good car, but every part needs to be touched. Overpriced.
Body off-frame restored C1s with everything complete in show condition sell for between $80,000 and $120,000. All that works takes at least $150,000.00 minimum at a Corvette restoration shop. So even if you got this mess for free, it would not be worth it. This Vette is a $20,000 car that can be turned into a cool vintage drag racer.
I forgot to mention that the front bumper has rust holes, which tells me the frame is rusted through. It must have sat outside on the grass.
My parents owend 3 of the c1s 58 60 62 all were money pits and problems want 39 k valued at 56kat todays labor rate parts you will be in more than its worth maybe resto mod sitting that long hidden costs i would by a turn key car its not a fuelie
