This 1962 Corvette convertible is touted as being “all original” by its current owner.
Now he’s decided to test the waters and see if his last-year C1 is worth the asking price of $65,000 to another enthusiast.
The car is being offered out of the East Aurora, New York area, after the seller says he bought it from Corvette Warehouse in Dallas, Texas, where “all systems” were checked out.
He says this Corvette had been in Texas all its life until he bought it and headed north with it. The 39,624 miles showing on the odometer are said to be original, but the seller admits he has “no real proof” of that, simply saying “You be the judge.”
The paint, interior, and drivetrain are all claimed to be original, and their condition seems to uphold that opinion. The white paint isn’t perfect nor is the interior, so a new owner wouldn’t have to be so paranoid about getting a nick or scratch while enjoying the experience of getting out on the open road with the hot new 327 V8 that debuted that year as an upgrade to the 283.
Not sure we’d want to pay the asking price for a car that’s just in driver quality. Likewise, some folks won’t be too thrilled with its Powerglide automatic transmission, though some of us old-timers might see that as a plus since our legs don’t work quite as well as they once did.
