For years, when trying to solve a problem with a computer, the guys in the IT Department have suggested unplugging it, letting it rest for a few seconds, and then plugging it back in again.
Sure enough, many times, that would solve the issue.
That’s kind of the approach General Motors is taking right now – while it continues to search for a permanent solution – on certain 2024 and 2025 Corvettes.
Apparently, the Performance Data Recorder on some of these cars is not working properly, apparently due to a “software anomaly.”
In some instances, once activated, the PDR may show a blank screen, not open at all, or display a welcome screen but remain non-functional.
According to service bulletin PIC6571, the only solution that GM has been able to devise so far is to reset the 12-volt battery in the car bydisconnecting the battery cables and holding them in contact for “a full five minutes” to discharge any power still left in the car.
While GM believes “the issue is very unlikely to return at that point in time,” the company says in some cases, further Service Information (SI) diagnostics screening may be necessary to see if other problems are causing the PDR to fail to operate.
In the meantime, GM engineers are apparently continuing a search for a solution that won’t require resetting the battery.

I had my PDR go out on my ZO6, Dealer tried to reboot the system and then had to replace a module. As I tracked the car and viewed the PDR, I realized that rpm’s were only 7000 and car would keep accelerating until red line shift.
I had posted it on my Facebook feed and Jordan B from the Chevrolet Customer Care reached out to me to get the issue rectified.
We set up an appointment with Sands Chevrolet in Phoenix to resolve the issue.
The Customer Care Team worked with the dealers technician and I guess they corrected it with a software update to the system.
All in all I would like to thank GM’s Customer Care Team for getting the problem resolved.
For what new Corvettes with PDR cost this is bullshit. Owners shouldn’t have to be dealing with this hassle.
Touching battery terminals… that’s like tapping your shoes and saying there’s no place like home. BS

As a C8 Z06 owner, I have not experienced this issue however I just received a letter from GM indicating that I need to schedule a service visit at a Chevrolet dealer to allow for two software updates that cannot be done OTA (Over the air). This letter does not tell me what it is for, nor does it list anything referencing a Service bulletin or recall. However, my GM app lists N242435630 as being needed and describes this as an update to the Serial Data Gateway Module. I do not believe this has anything to do with the PDR. I use the PDR often and have not experienced any issues so far.
