Ask any Corvette enthusiast, and they’ll tell you the hobby is about more than just owning and driving the car. It’s about becoming part of a supportive family.
Witness last week’s Corvette Caravan, if you don’t believe us.
Or better yet, ask Pacific Central Caravan leader Don Herzer, who suffered “a major right front tire incident” on his 2019 ZR while enroute to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
He managed to get his one-year-only Corvette to a local dealership near Cheyenne, Wyoming, but his replacement tires were still two days away so it looked like he wouldn’t be able to make it to the 30th anniversary celebration being held at the NCM.
Fortunately, though, it just so happened that local Corvette enthusiasts Alex and Sarah Aragon showed up at the same dealership that morning to have their very own 2019 ZR1 serviced.
Once they heard about Don’s plight, they generously offered to let him have the tires off their own ZR1 so he could resume his Caravan journey!
Eileen Keyser, who was also taking part in the Pacific Central Caravan, tells about the kind deed in an August 29 post on Facebook, writing: “What would be the chances of another ZR1 being brought in for service on the same morning that Don would be there? A Big shout out to Tyrrell Chevrolet in Cheyenne and our two Corvette Angels, Alex & Sarah Aragon.”
What a heartwarming story to start the day!

Many thanks,

One year only car and one year only wheels and tires. Only 2,953 coupes and convertible ZR1s were built in 2019. So, what a total coincidence that these two cars ended up in the same place at the same time. Having owned one of these beasts myself, I was reluctant to take it very far from home because of the rarity of tires, etc. Very special people who saved this person’s day.
That is very odd that two rare C7 ZR1s would show up at the same time at the same dealership in the small city of Cheyenne, WY of all places.
Would be interesting to know the whole story.
Don is a very special person who has given a lot of support to the corvette community over many years. He was our Caravan captain and put on an amazing run across the 2700 miles we all traveled to Bowling green. Karma at its best.
Ronnie – what else do you need to know? Seemed pretty cut-n-dry to me.
Four time Corvette owner and I’m here to tell you the Corvette fraternity is a very special bunch! Great work helping out a fellow family member. There’s a special place in heaven for those that put others needs ahead of their own. God bless!
What an awesome story! There is true goodness & kindness in this world. God bless Alex & Sarah Aragon. A real miracle that 2 very rare C7 Chevy Corvette ZR1’s would end up @ the same dealership in such a remote location. 🙂
