[PICS] The 2024 Corvettes at Carlisle Show Celebrates 50 years of Carlisle Events

The 2024 Corvettes at Carlisle show was another one for the ages. In addition to celebrating 40 years of the Corvette show, Carlisle Events was celebrating its 50th anniversary. Combine all that with nearly perfect weather, great friends and fantastic cars, you’ve got the must-attend Corvette event of the year.

2024 came up just short of a new record with a whopping 3,044 Corvettes registered for the Fun Field. That massive number continued Carlisle’s consistent draw over the recent yeas. The quantity and diversity of Corvettes shown each year simply can’t be beat. No matter what corner of the Corvette hobby you gravitate to, there’s something for you at Carlisle.

Looking back at this year’s marquee event, it’s hard to pick just one highlight. The 2025 Corvette ZR1 commanded much of the spotlight throughout the weekend. The new King of Hill entertained throngs of onlookers all weekend starting from the moment it was removed from the trailer. Every time it moved, countless attendees moved along with it. The striking combo of black paint, blue stripes, and blue wheels is one of the best looking C8’s we’ve seen yet. Both walkaround sessions with the Team Corvette were mobbed with eager Corvette fans. Friday’s crowd was so big, you could barely see the car itself during the presentation. That prompted pretalk requests on Saturday for onlookers to please keep their space so everyone could get their chance to see the new King.

The Corvette Challenge car reunion raised the bar even higher. We love seeing these cars come together every 5 years at Carlisle and we’re certain many of us that are of a certain age remember watching the Challenge races on TV back in the day. Activities reached a pinnacle Saturday afternoon when most of the group paraded around the fairgrounds to the far side near the for-sale pavilion. Complete some of the original drivers behind the wheel, it was time for hot laps up and down the famous Carlisle hill. Seeing and hearing these cars go through their paces once again is something we’ll not soon forget. Burnouts and donuts in the grass created one memorable afternoon. This year’s Chip’s Choice featured “Mean Corvettes” inside Building T. The group contained some of the wildest custom Corvettes you’ve ever seen. Over in the NCRS Gallery attendees were treated to plenty of shade and some of the best factory-correct Corvettes out there.

The rolling exhaust and autocross competitions gave us the opportunity to see some more Corvettes in motion. The autocross is always fun and we’re really starting to dig the rolling exhaust event. Some of those cars are LOUD.

The cars in the NCCC-judged show and shine sparkled in the Pennsylvania sun as they were evaluated by the discerning judges. Then there’s all those seminars. This year’s talks included a Callaway walkaround, a panel discussion with the Corvette Challenge drivers, Steve Garrett’s Corvette Today podcast, and more. Additionally, Paul Koerner did this thing all weekend long in the Corvette Mechanic Garage inside Building R.

As usual, we wrapped up our time at Carlisle with the Saturday night downtown parade. We love seeing how the Carlisle community comes together to support this event. People line up 2-3 deep along the road to all the Corvettes slowly slither into town.

There’s so much to do at Carlisle it’s nearly impossible to cover all that here. We didn’t even mention the Corvette giveaways, the myriad vendors, or the kids’ activities. If you’ve never been, we highly recommend that you get this show on your 2025 Corvette show agenda. Next year’s show will run August 21st – 23rd. We’ll be there. Will you?
