If you have enough money, you can for sure buy an expensive sports car like a C8 Z06, but you can’t always buy the brain to go along with it.
That’s one major takeaway from a three-car crash in Riverside County, California on Sunday afternoon, July 7, involving said sports car.
The driver of the Corvette originally fled from police who had pulled him over near the fire station in the gated community of Canyon Lake – and not long afterward smashed into the two other vehicles.
Fortunately, no one was severely injured in the crash, with the driver of one of the other vehicles said to have been treated for minor injuries at a hospital. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the expensive Z06, which appears to have suffered severe damage, particularly to the passenger side, in several photos from the scene posted to social media.
Bits and pieces of all the vehicles involved appear to litter this stretch of Greenwald Avenue near what looks to be a blind curve.
In the aftermath, the Corvette driver now has the most smashed-up car, but that’s the least of his worries as he has been charged with driving under the influence, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Facebook users point out that the Corvette driver is a known resident of the Canyon Lake community, so it’s likely police would have been able to track him down, meaning it made no sense to run. He’s also lucky that no golfers riding in carts were injured as the crash apparently occurred near a course.

That guy also had a DUI driving his boat drunk in 2019.
Business owner with felonies. 🤦♂️
Looks like that C8 Corvette Z06 will end up at CoPart’s salvage yard!
Driving on a public road is a privilege not a right. People like this do not deserve it.
Is the engine “ticking” now?
Sounds like the state of California should get fed up with this guy and give him a year “vacation” in jail. That has reformed a lot of drunk drivers.
