[VIDEO] 2024 Corvette Delivered with Two Different Seats

Corvette enthusiasts are often the target of jokes from owners of other sports cars for always referring to our mass produced Corvettes as being a one-of-one. In fact, there was a poster back in the day over on the Porsche Rennlist who called us a bunch of “Corvette hillbillys” for the contorted ways we go through to say it’s a one of one.

But this time I think we got the real deal!

Our friend Rick Conti posted a video this afternoon showing off a true one-of-one 2024 Corvette Stingray that is just off the truck from Bowling Green.

Rick takes us out to the car and then focuses on the personalized plaque which reads “Last of its Kind.” “In fact, it should say ‘One of a Kind’,” says Rick as he pulls back to reveal the Corvette Stingray was delivered with two completely different seats. The car was ordered with two-tone Sky Cool Gray GT2 seats and while the passenger seat was correct, the driver’s seat is a Jet Black GT2 seat.

While this seems like a laughing matter, it’s just another issue that Conti’s dealership has been dealing with after new Corvettes were damaged during transit, and now this seat mix-up means more inconvenience for his customers:

“We’ve been dealing with a lot just an exorbitant amount of in transit damage,” says Conti. “That’s been an inconvenience to us, but more importantly to our customers and now we’re dealing with that. I’ll let you know how it’s resolved…look forward to seeing you guys tomorrow night at Tech Tuesday.”

The owner does want his two-tone Sky Cool Gray seats and who could blame him for that. While it is a true factory error, having two completely different seat designs is just a little over the top to keep it like that. It will be interesting to see how fast this seat mix-up is resolved as we’ve often heard that there are parts available for production, but not so much for repairs. Anyone waiting on a Windshield can attest to that.

We’ll be tuning into Conti’s Channel for his Tech Tuesday episode to see more about this.

  1. How the f**k does this happen? Quality control has definitely gone out the window in BG. Give the union members a hefty raise and now quality is gone? Explain this to us.

  2. Do people on the line have eyeballs? Why aren’t they using them? This is beyond absurd, and a real black eye for Bowling Green…on a $100k car yet! There are no excuses. LOTS of workers saw this car over the 1-2 days it was moving down the line. But how could the people installing the seats not notice? Heads need to roll over this. New plant manager Tony Roma needs to make this his first priority.

  3. supposed to be about Corvettes but is mostly about narcissistic Rickie. You are not funny, quit laughing and cut the canned laughter. Doing your part to downgrade GM, why?

  4. Quality control has been thrown out with the bath water in Bowling Green. My 2023 Stingray was delivered with a misaligned fender, front bumper and drivers door. Guess they have been forced to hire sight challenged workers on the assembly line. No rational excuse for this blunder.

  5. They should trace back to every employee that touched that car from the point of where the seats were installed to the person who loaded it on the truck and fire every last one of them. Employees that turn a blind eye to things like this are a cancer to any organization.

  6. I guess every worker that worked on this car after the seats were installed, said to themselves, “not my job” then proceeded to say nothing, there’s no way in hell that not 1 single person going down that line didn’t see this, the last person that is supposed to check things out, should be fired, what an embarrassment….SMH.

  7. It’s a DEI car. Explains why some new Corvettes have issues with wheels, transmissions, fender gaps around headlights, or Z06 engines failing. Hope the same crowd is not building Boeing airplanes or making COVID vaccine.

  8. And it’s not being assembled in Mexico. But no one will be held accountable, they’re Union workers.

  9. When the labor is monopolized through legalized extortion by a union, you can’t blame the business. The fact that a business can’t fire employees that don’t show up to work (when they strike) makes it a literal extortion, enabled by government.

  10. UNIONS are a cancer to any organization.
Even if that employee took a sh*t on the seat the union [extortion] agreement and lawyers would prevent that employee from being fired.

  11. How many other things never got inspected and are wrong on this car? I would not want that car even with the seats corrected.

  12. Some Corvette drivers are quirky enough that they might have ordered it that way. We’ve seen stranger things.
