The classic car evaluation experts at Hagerty define #1, or “Concours” condition automobiles as world class; could compete in the world’s best Concours d’Elegance events. When it comes to first-year C6 “Blue Devil” ZR1s, their valuation tool currently pegs #1 condition specimens at $133,000, which is up 8.1% this year.
Owners, prospective owners, and fans of the first factory supercharged Corvette should keep their eyes on Bring a Trailer through Saturday, June 29th, as the 87th ZR1 ever made; an 875-mile example in the model’s signature Jetstream Blue is set to test that bar. In its first few hours on sale, this sub-1k-mile blue over ebony museum piece already boasts seven bids, which have pushed it into six-figure territory with 158 hours left on the clock until things tend to get really interesting.
To make things even more noteworthy, an unusually high number of other #1 worthy ZR1s have surfaced in recent weeks. On the 22nd, a BaT auction for a 2k mile end-of-the-line 2013 60th Anniversary Edition hammered just shy of Hagerty’s max threshold. Meanwhile, a New Jersey dealership that your author has been obsessing over this month (not just for its impressive collection of incredibly desirable Corvettes like the stunning 373-mile Centennial Z06 that they also sent through BaT last week – while I was on a family vacation, otherwise it too, would have had its own post on this site – but also for its everyday inventory with hard-to-believe low mileage, like this 36,000-mile 2009 Escalade offered for just $28 grand, or this 1999 Yukon with just 53k on the clock that could let you play Tony Soprano for under $20,000, just to name a few) has a Jetstream Blue 2009 ZR1 that is somehow even more world class and Concours-ready than number 87.
Vantage – not Vintage, dear – Auto’s 638-horse hellion sports VIN 337 and has amassed so few miles that my computer insists I spell it out: nine. Yes, its period-perfect teal digital odometer shows just nine miles, and, aside from its Titanium leather, it’s the perfect twin of the car going under the gavel this week, down to its pristine 20-spoke chrome wheels and what remains one of the most stunning and iconic blue paints in Corvette lore (making them two of the 231 JSB ZR1s assembled – and 1,415 total – for the ZR1’s Freshman campaign). As one of the second most mint condition ’09s in existence after the infamous rebuilt sinkhole Devil, #337 is asking a king’s ransom. It is currently listed at $195,500 – some 46% higher than Hagerty’s #1 ranking. Its linemate has the unique chance to help it out this week by setting a new bar for cars sold at auction, and we’ll be watching intently to see how it all plays out!

Ya that color is killer. I had a 08′ 2LT auto that was that color, now I have a 11′ GS 3LT manual in Crystal Red Met and it’s real hard to pick a favorite, but damn this red met is awesome too. They both look fabulous in the sun. Beautiful ZR1
