Organizers are busy making plans for the third annual Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend, slated for Aug. 15-17 at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
“We wanted to make sure that we formed CACW or Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend,” says Billy Brooks, co-founder of the event. “We try to center all our networking and fellowshipping, not to come together to have car shows and give out trophies, but to actually network and fellowship, based on the Corvette.”
Teaming up with the National Corvette Museum and the Corvette Assembly Plant, a hybrid team of visionaries, creators, managers, and strategists are working together to provide an annual opportunity for Corvette enthusiasts through the U.S. and Canada “to come together and experience and celebrate the cultural and ethnic diversity that exists amongst Corvette owners while contributing to the development of educational and economic opportunities in the host community,” according to the CACW website.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating the triumphs of visionary leaders who have transformed the automotive industry through Innovative Manufacturing, Cutting-Edge Designs, and Outreach Initiatives.”
While CACW is designed to celebrate African-American Corvette owners and enthusiasts, CACW is welcoming to everyone. The event offers an agenda of tours, seminars, networking opportunities, local community service projects, social events, and entertainment, ensuring a rich and engaging experience for everyone involved.
“Greet old friends and meet new friends at the Cultural Weekend at the National Corvette Museum, exchanging knowledge on history, technical updates, and networking with like-minded Corvette enthusiasts,” a spokesperson said.
During the 2024 event, five 2024 Ring of Honor inductees will be honored, including Ed Welburn, Kimball Green, Andrea Carothers, Janet Henderson, and Ron Jones.

The Corvette Museum brings a whole new meaning to the word “racing!”
Any event that focuses mainly towards one group of people over others should not be allowed. Why is it always one certain group that says it wants diversity, but shows it wants the opposite. The Corvette museum is probably doing it for the money.
You have got to be kidding. Oh maybe Joe will bring his corvette if he doesn’t forget where he is going.
