[VIDEO] Moving Up in the Corvette World from a C4 to a C6 Corvette

Our friend Brad Hansen of the Retro Cars Forever YouTube channel has been on quest to make the C4 Corvette cool again, and we appreciate all his great content over the past couple of years aimed at the 4th generation sportscar. Brad has shown how the C4s make great starter Corvettes, especially for younger automotive enthusiasts and they can be quite fun to experience.

Brad had mentioned in one of his videos that he was on the hunt for an upgrade, and I thought that a C5 was totally going to be Corvette #2 for him. Nope, Brad is moving up in the Corvette world from his LT4-powered 1996 Corvette Collectors Edition and is now driving a Le Mans Blue 2007 Corvette Coupe with a little over 12K miles on the odometer.

Brad actually did quite a bit of cross-shopping before buying the car, and he was very meticulous about his research on the C6 Corvette once he started homing in on the model. So, after deciding that the C6 Corvette was for him, and then finding a possible candidate in Las Vegas, Brad flew in for a test drive from L.A., and then purchased the car and drove it back home.

While he didn’t disclose the price paid for the Corvette, we think the car is great, and he probably did save some money by going with a 2007 that is powered by the 400-hp LS2 engine. His car has the 3LT trim group and features the Z51 Performance Package, 6-Speed Manual Transmission, Chrome wheels, AM/FM Stereo with Nav and the Dual Roof package. In this video he also offers a number of reasons why he selected the C6 over those he has test-drove.

As for his cherished LT4 Collector’s Edition, he sold that to a friend and says that we might see the car in future videos.

Congrats on the new 2007 Corvette, Brad!

  1. I made the same move back in 2017. No regrets. The C6 is beyond two generations better, it is a seismic change. The C4 had its issues… no question, but the C6 is so much more resolved. Just a stunning improvement.
