The new year brings an exciting new addition to the C8 Corvette model line-up as production of the all-new performance hybrid Corvette E-Ray is just now getting underway. There have been a lot of discussion about how the first electrified Corvette functions and performs, and thanks to NCM Insurance Agency, we now know how much it may cost to insure.

The NCM Insurance Agency can protect all your Corvettes – classic or new – with an Agreed Value insurance policy so you know exactly what the replacement value is in case of a total loss. When it comes to bringing a new vehicle to the NCM Insurance Agency, the value of the car is locked in at the purchase price, so you don’t have to worry about depreciation or needing additional “gap” insurance for the lifetime of the policy. Should prices increase like what happened with the 2019 ZR1s, you can adjust your car’s value with them at any time.

To calculate the premiums for a 2024 Corvette E-Ray, the NCM Insurance Agency based their demo off of a married male, with the value of the car being $110,000 and the policy featuring a 3K mileage tier. Quotes with that criteria were generated for residents of Kentucky, California, and Florida and then the premiums were averaged. The average 12-month premium on the 2024 E-Ray comes in at $1,505.

Most new owners will simply call their standard auto agent and have them add the E-Ray to their policy. Don’t get stuck paying for higher premiums if you’re only driving the car for pleasure. Collector vehicle insurance exists for this reason.

One misconception with collector car policies is that your driving is extremely curtailed, and that’s just not the case. The NCM Insurance Agency offers three mileage tiers (1K, 3K, and 6K) and any unused miles can rollover to the next year. They even offer an Occasional Commuting to Work Endorsement and Track Day coverage for when you’re ready to test your limits. If you have more than one collector car on the policy, you pay liability just once for all your vehicles. And don’t forget that NCM Insurance protects more than just Corvettes. They can insure any kind of vehicle that meets their collector vehicle requirements.

The NCM Insurance Agency is backed by American Modern, who has been around since the early 1960s as specialists in collector car policies. They are rated A+ by A.M. Best and have incredible resources at their disposal when it comes to dealing with a claim. In the case of an accident, a dedicated claims adjuster will be assigned to help guide you through the process. The customer service aspects of their website make it easy to make a payment or manage your account and there is now an app so you can keep all the details about your policy with you when you travel.

  1. Who cares if you can afford a $150,000 car. That’s like saying what’s my payment going to be or can I get a 84 month loan.

  2. I would love to insure my 2022 C8 Stingray with NCM Insurance. However, I do what the car was designed to do. I drive it all year long in CT and track it several times a year. I can’t insure it with NCM because I drive it way more than 6k miles a year. The following paragraph was cut and copied from the article above.

This is not true. My driving is curtailed when I can’t drive it more than 6K miles per year. And I called NCM Insurance to inquire about a policy of daily driving and occasional track day coverage and they said a policy like that doesn’t exist.

I would love to insure my car with NCM Insurance but I can’t. My current policy with The Hartford allows me 13K miles and cost $1,000 a year.

  3. It’s a good article to get an idea of what one might expect and begin to think about trade-offs. I have several other “special” cars to drive, so won’t be putting a lot of miles on a new C8 Z06.
