So what is PVD Chrome? It’s a performance finish that is created through a process called Physical Vapor Deposition. While the traditional of chroming wheels involved a chemical bath, PVD Chrome wheels are created through the process of applying a micro-thin layer of chrome onto the entire wheel in a vacuum chamber. This process creates an inseparable bond between the chrome finish and the alloy wheels. An acrylic clear coat is then added which seals and protects the new chrome finish, and the wheels are covered under a 5-year warranty.
