Here’s some good news for those buying a 2024 Corvette Stingray. You’re fuel economy mileage just increased according to the latest update on FuelEconomy.gov.

We caught the news over on the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com by JumpSquadAuto who also operates a YouTube channel of the same name.

The latest data on FuelEconomy.gov shares the new ratings for the 2024 Corvette Stingray, and they are 16 MPG City and 25 MPG Highway with a 19 MPG combined rating. The change comes on the Highway side of the equation with the 2023 Corvette Stingrays only achieving a 24 MPG Highway rating. The overall rating for 2023 Stingray was also 19 MPG combined.

JumpSquadAuto says in his MECF post that he caught a lead that the new fuel economy numbers were going to be released for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray as well. Currently, the official numbers for the E-Ray are 16 MPG City / 24 MPG Highway with a 19 MPG combined rating.

According to JumpSquadAuto, he says the E-Ray’s fuel economy ratings were taking a little longer due to it being a hybrid, as hybrids and EVs go through a different process. We might still see some updates for the E-Ray before it’s all over with.

As the E-Ray shares the same 6.2L LT2 V8 engine with the Stingray, we would think that its City MPG numbers would be somewhat higher due to the hybrid AWD system, but there is the added weight to consider. The 2024 E-Ray also has Start/Stop technology which doesn’t seem to help out either.

Here’s the video from JumpSquadAuto on the Stingray and E-Ray’s fuel economy ratings.

  1. I don’t see much news about the C8’s Highway mileage. One recent trip in my 2020 C8 yielded 34.3 MPG @ 57.8 miles. If you tell me how, I will send a photo of the dash showing the details.

  2. “E-Ray’s fuel economy ratings were taking a little longer due to it being a hybrid” is a load of hooey. One has to fish around on the web to find any rumors of mileage and that’s a bunch of nonsense. Also the question “Does a C8 owner really care about mileage?” gets an answer of YES, we care about all numbers regarding the car. I have owned 6 Corvettes, two of them C8s. GM making this hybrid mileage a big secret is hogwawsh.
